Symbols in Portuguese

Are you curious wondering how symbols are called in Portuguese? Well, look no further! Here is my list of Symbols in Portuguese vocabulary chart.

In Portuguese, there are also some expressions related to these symbols. For example, when you want to quote someone, you should say abre aspas, to start the quotation, and fecha aspas, to end it.

The same applies to parênteses and colchetes (used mostly in mathematics): abre parênteses and fecha parênteses.

And let’s not forget that the correct word for the symbol   ‘   is apóstrofo, not apóstrofe. This last word means the interruption of the discourse of an orator, or an initial word that you use in the beginning of a sentence to evoke the receptor of the speech.
